Day 9–10 Puerto Viejo de Talamanca: An incredible ride to the Caribbean
coast brings us to this picturesque village surrounded by exotic tropical
vegetation and white and black sand beaches.
Day 11-12 Bocas del Toro: Cross into Panama and travel by boat to the
Archipelago of Bocas del Toro (the bull's mouth). Snorkel, scuba dive, or just
relax on the beach. The islands offer isolated pockets of lowlands with wildlife
and fauna found nowhere else on the planet.
Day 13-14 Boquete: A plethora of outdoor activities await in the mountain
town of Boquete including incredible hikes and rafting. This town is known for
its unspoiled natural environment and we'll take every opportunity to explore it!
Day 15 Panama City: This modern city is home to much more than the worldfamous
Panama Canal, including colonial architecture, rich history, and inviting
cobblestone streets. On our half-day tour of the canal, we'll see this modern
engineering feat at work and gain understanding into its importance.
Day 16 Depart Panama City
Day 1 Arrive San Jose: Transfer to hotel and meet the group and your guides
at 6 pm. Spend time sightseeing and people watching in this bustling city
with endless cafes, markets, and museums.
Day 2–3 Arenal Volcano: La Fortuna, the town at the foot of this active volcano
is an excellent base for adventure-seekers. Hike the base and surrounding nature
trails, swim in the waterfall, or enjoy other optional activities such as rappelling,
rafting, horseback riding, or mountain biking, before relaxing at the Tabacon
Hot Springs.
Day 4-5 Monteverde:: Make your way to the misty mountain air of the
Monteverde cloud forest. In this nature-lovers sanctuary, you'll find more than
2,000 species of plants, 320 birds, and 100 different mammals.
Day 6 Monteverde – San Jose: Travel across picturesque highlands,
returning to San Jose.
Day 7–8 Tortuguero: Travel by boat through canals to Tortuguero, a key nesting
area for sea turtles. Enjoy a boat tour along rivers and canals in Tortuguero National
Park with opportunities to see herons, the "Jesus Lizard" and caimans. The
tropical rainforest gives way to prime beaches for us to explore.
